Aitutaki Activities are mainly water based, kayaking, snorkeling, diving, fishing, whale and turtle watching (in season-July-Sept), and just getting out and seeing all the Motu's  (little islands) the lagoon is famous for. Of course there is land based activities, visiting the villages, shops, dining, some shore fishing, scavengers beach hike, highest point hike, and just getting out and meeting the locals.

 

The best way to see the island of Aitutaki is by our 2 seater Scooters or 4 seater Convertible Cars which are also air-conditioned.

See our famous One Foot Island and get your passport stamped or send a postcard from the One Foot Island Post Office ... You can also enjoy a fresh fish BBQ lunch with local tropical salads and explore some of the uninhabited islands and hear the local legends.

 

When things heat up, get wet at our snorkel spot and see the giant clams and colourful tropical fish. Just when you think the fun is over, jump on a tube ride with some friends and race behind the boat zig-zagging through the water or get on a wakeboard and do some wild tricks behind the wake of the boat.

Ranginui's Retreat is fast becoming known as the kick off point for kiteboarding on the Aitutaki Lagoon, you can literally start from our beach and work your way out to the sand bars where the wind tunnels in from the the open Pacific. Kiteboarders can also catch a ride down the lagoon to one of the other motu's for a day kiteboarding.

 

Want a transfer to one of the motus for a day of kiteboarding? Our onsite activities facilitator Wet & Wild will get you there in style.

  • DAY TOUR:  includes snorkel gear, lunch and tour of the lagoon and motus.

 

  • MOTU DROP OFFS: Get a ride from Ranginui's retreat to

        one of the motu's for the day and picked up later
       (Honeymoon Island or One foot Island).

 

  • DEEP SEA FISHING: Try your hand at Aitutaki fishing, catch Yellowfin tuna, Mahi Mahi, Wahoo and other fish outside the reef.

  • PRIVATE CHARTER (full day) for NZD$600.00 per day for two people. Extra persons NZD$50.00 each. Half day Charter for NZD$350.00.
